The American Heart Association hosted its 9th annual Go Red For Women luncheon on Friday, May 18 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. Hundreds of men and women from the business and civic communities came and celebrated the lives of women and learned about heart disease. The afternoon included health screenings by Merck and United Healthcare, lipstick makeovers by Macy’s using various shades of reds, a silent auction, healthy cooking demonstrations and an unveiling of the red dress design contest. First-, second- and third-place winners were on display. A healthy lunch with a program including heart-disease survivors stories was included. Main Line community locals Eliana Papadakis of Haverford and Sandra Schultz Newman of Gladwyne, former PA Supreme Court Justice, were co-honorees and received the 2012 “Woman of Heart” award.
